Regarding meeting that happened, to present the Palestine Issue An interesting event happened last night in Nelson, where i have made my home for the past twenty years .There was a presentation of a subject that most so called freedom loving KANADIANS have limited or no idea about .It was to do with the apartheid of the Palestinian people ,and the oppression of them under the heal of Israeli regime .The presentation was for the most very informative about the lives of the people under Israeli rule; primarily the Palestinians that live in the area known as the GAZA strip.There has been over the past years attempts to awaken the people around the world of this oppression of these Palestinian people and their plight ,one such group was presenting last night in the local United Church hall .
What was the most interesting was not the material presented, because i am quite familiar with the goings on over in Palestine, but with the fact that the presentation was being thwarted by the local Jewish community or lets say certain people that identify themselves as thus .I found out after the presentation by what i would call a reliable source that there were venomous emails being sent to various parties that were involved in either the presenting the Palestinian plight or to the people that were in charge of meeting halls where the presentation could take place. In this case it was to be presented at our local library, and this had been thwarted by either the group of Jewish opposition or by one representative of this group. They managed to thwart the presentation at the local library with letters or emails going to the right offices within the city management, so as an attempt to disallow such an event to happen under city property, which in this case the Library falls into .I was also informed that there had been some clandestine meeting by the alleged Jewish community to determine their courses of action to disallow such an event .I find it appalling that a few PERSONS can wield such power over such a simple event and control what people can or cannot listen to .The material presented a very genuine take on what is happening in GAZA ,it presented in a very unbiased way, sensitive to the situation ,and ever hopeful of resolution between the parties. My heart goes out to the people's of this world who are not being allowed to have the basics of what this world has to offer, and the freedoms that we have, allegedly have here. What i have to say is this type of situation is, a microcosm of the Macrocosm, the covert control by those that rattle around in their ivory towers dictating through their media outlets to people 's around the world of what they can read, think, or align themselves to.
It is an ever-increasing reality for that and me when you actually delve into this world Of media, which is primarily controlled for the most part by a handful of people, one begins to realize that we awake citizens are coming face to face with a conspiracy of media control so monstrous that most people cannot believe it exists. And then we could go into the origins of these select media moguls and whom they align themselves to, but i think for now that is enough . Without prejudice. timothy bloxham
